Movie nitpicks
#1. About 1/4 through the film Mewtwo turns on Guinovere who had the Earth Badge, but excuse me, if he had the Earth Badge all Pokemon would obey him(just like in the game). Once again showing how far off the anime is to the game. #2. Mewtwo does not know that Jesse and James are at his castle. When he erased everyones memory, he would not have erased theirs because he didn't know they were there. #3. When Ash and the others arrive at Mewtwo's castle, Nurse Joy told all the pokemon trainers to release ALL their pokemon from their pokeballs. So why didn't Ash release his Charrizard? When he fights the clone is the first time we even find out he has it. #4. In the middle of the movie Team Rocket are naming the coresponding Pokemon shadows that appear on the computer screen, a Scyther appears and they call it a Alakazam. I also noticed this happening in the anime on a couple of ocations. #5. When the theme song is being played Ash is in a battle(cock fight) with a Golem and two other Pokemon. Pikachu thundershocks all three of them and the trainer is defeated...WRONG! Electric attacks don't affect ground type Pokemon(Golem). Further enforcing how the anime isn't based on the game. #6. During the begining of the movie, Mewtwo declares that being a lab experiment cannot be his destiny. Then later, in Giovani's complex, he then states that being a slave is still not his destiny. Yet..as I saw...he never did find what his destiny was, nor did he pursue it. I might be missing something..but it seems like a waste of a good 15 min. #7. In Pikachu's Vacation, when Starmie, Goldeen and Staryu are swiming through the water, the water also goes up and down. By all scientific means, that is wrong. #8. 2/3 of the way through and Mewtwo catches everybody's Pokemon, why doesn't he get Brock's Pokemon too? This is one big plot hole. #9. In the Mewtwo book it said it took two months to clone Mew with a single hair, yet in the movie Meowth is cloned by his hair in five to ten minutes. #10. Really bad translations here. In one part of the movie Meowth identifies a Pokemon as a Snadshrew, but it was a Sandslash. Someguy also mentioned he flown a Pidgeotto and considering a Pidgeoto's size that wouldn't be possible. He was really flying a Pidgeot. #11. At the start of Pikachus Vacation, you can see Goldeen, Staryu and Starmie bobbing up and down in the water. then the camera switches to a different angle and Starmie disappears. you can then see Starmie return when the camera changes angle again. #12. When Pikachu was caught by Mewtwo inside that weird Pokeball, it's taken to the Clone Machine but Ash holds it and doesn't let the machine finish the work. So it's clear that Pikachu is not cloned. (You also can see that Pikachu is not cloned when the cloned Pokemon are getting out from the lab you can't see Pikachu). Then when the original ones are fighting again the cloned ones, there are two Pikachus but the original was not cloned. #13. When Squirtle and Marril are competing in the swimming race Marril bumps into a Starmie and gets disracted. Then Goldeen brings Squirtle back to start. Now correct me if I'm wrong. I assume that Goldeen was Misty's, but if it was why did he bring Squirtle back to start for? If Ash, Misty, and Brock's Pokemon are good friends. Why would Goldeen do that? Shame, shame, Goldeen! #14. When Nurse Joy/The Lady is telling Ash, Misty, and Brock to release their strongest Pokemon. Ash released all of his Pokemon, but Pidgeotto. I know maybe Pidgeotto left Ash before this movie, but then why was Pidgeotto in Pikachu's Vacation? I assume that Ash had Pidgeotto with him. If anyone who watches the show know that Pidgeottos are very strong, so Ash should of released Pidgeotto. Bad editing here guys. #15. In the T.V series and probably in the movie how is it that the Earth Badge is supposed to make all Pokémon obey their trainers, BUT Charizard still hardly ever obeys Ash even after he has the Badge. Simmilar to what happened with Guinovere. #16. During Pikachu's Vacation, when all the Pokemon are trying to get Charizard out of the small crawlspace, we noticed that Cubone joined in late..in front of Pikachu. But when Charizard is freed and the Pokemon go flying...Cubone is behind Pikachu, and he's still behind him in the wreckage of the equipment. #17. During Pikachu's vacation, when they first get there, all the pokemon trample Pikachu. The last Pokemon to step on Pikachu was Psyduck, then you see it run off, plus, you even hear a very distant, psyyyyyyy, in the background. The thing is, in the next scene, Psyduck is there standing with Bulbasaur and Squirtle attenting to Togepi, wow he moves fast! #18. When the trio show up at Mewtwo's home only Ash is introduced, but later Joy calls Misty by name. Some psychic capiabilities maybe? #19. When Mewtwo is talking to the pokémon trainers, Ash is standing behind Brock. A few seconds later he comes up from the cloning lab with all the pokémons. Hm...maybe there is two of em? |
