I suppose I'll start this out with a bit of site history. Pokemon Sux.COM originated as The Anti Pokemon Anime Page in September of 1999. About 2 or 3 months later, I tired of the Pokemon hype, getting bored of the video game, and still sick of the anime, unleashed Pokemon Sux.COM right before that Christmas. This was during Pokemon's hottest period right after the first movie and the site was getting what I would consider a pretty decent amount of traffic for a site with little to no promotion. Later, my crappy web server apparently considering a picture of Vegeta throwing animated fireballs at an inanimate Pokemon logo as "adult" decided to pull the plug on my site. After a few months, my site returned on a new server, but soon afterward, I started losing my interest in Anti-Pokemon.

About a year later I "retired" the page and since then, I only updated my site about once every six months. I haven't played a Pokemon game since Pokemon Red+Blue, and I haven't watched a Pokemon episode since the first season. It seems kinda pointless to be discussing something I haven't even been paying attention to in 3 years.

Especially now when you consider how unpopular Pokemon has gotten. No longer do you see Pokemon on the news or Pokemon themed Burger King promotions. I mean, the 5th Pokemon movie was released last May. Did anyone even notice? Obviously Pokemon's popularity isn't what it once was. Sure the games still sell good, but it's certainly not as mainstream as it was when it first hit the US. One of the things that bothered me about Pokemon in the first place was it's popularity and now that it isn't that popular anymore, it gives me one less reason to have this site.

So why do I bother to continue to update the site? Well, from the feedback I get, it still seems quite a few people still enjoy visiting it. You can basically blame it on nostalgia. Besides, it's kinda cool being able to say you have an actual web site that people go to and not just some half assed AOL Hometown about me page.
